Moina or Daphnia from a lake in Ranchi Jharkhand

So moina always has this first antenulle and Daphnia doesn’t right?
Is there some reference picture to make it more clear? What’s the purpose of this antenulle?

How long does it take for moina and Daphnia to reach adulthood?

Moinas attain reproductive maturity after 4-7 days after birth whereas Daphnia takes 5-10 days.

More updates needed whether we have identified the organism…

If not, We together can try to identify whether it is a Moina, Daphnia or any other crustacean…

Please post the updates regularly.

Antennule is present in both Moina and Daphnia but the difference is Moina has a prominent antennule and Male Daphnia has antennule and Female doesn’t have any.

This photo reference was found on Pinterest (although not reliable, I have messaged the author of this photo to send for a reference). Otherwise, there are only articles saying that Daphnia do not have any antennule.

We do not have paucity for any organism!
The photographs of Daphnia as well as Moina are available easily (if we make an effort to search on a search engine) but the thing is that, Daphnia has been researched more as compared to its relative Moina.
