Does the opening and closing of leaves is the same as sleeping and waking up? How do we define sleeping?

The weather station was damaged due to high speed winds.
We have taken it apart for adding mechanical reinforcement.
Is this of JMS Jaipur or of HBCSE, TIFR that is damaged?
